Project Overview

Driving Question:

How do we welcome people? How does the United States become home?

SUMMARY:

After an introduction to emigration, immigration, and citizenship, students research ways to welcome newcomers into Phoenix. Within collaborative groups, students mobilize their school and local community to welcome new families or populations in their acclimation to life and work in Phoenix. Given a choice of project media, students collectively document their engagement and ongoing opportunities through videos, the school website, and school displays.
