Project Based Learning: 5 Reasons PBL Makes Learning Come Alive

When was the last time your child came home from school excited and eager to tell you about what they were learning? If you can’t remember, it may be because their school’s more traditional approach to teaching isn’t inspiring them to dig deeper—your child may not be engaged in their content because they are just going through the motions of school.

With a Project Based Learning approach, teachers don’t simply deliver content to students and expect them to remember facts and complete worksheets to earn a grade—in PBL, content is provided to students through a real-world issue, problem, or question that they study and are able to connect to in an authentic way. Teachers and students integrate knowledge from all content areas to become forward thinking problem solvers—learning comes to life through genuine engagement, innovation, and collaboration.
