One for the Murphys by Lynda Mullaly Hunt

One For The Murphys is a very emotional but interesting book. Carley Conners is a teenage girl who is now in foster care because her mother is in a coma and her step dad didn’t want her. Carley is now a part of the Murphys and it gets really interesting every day. In one for the Murphys there is a lot that carley has to deal with and her being in a completely new family doesn't help her with her mother. Carley doesn't like the idea of being loved because she wasn't ever exposed to much care and love in her life. Ms.Murphy wants to love Carley and show her she cares, but after a few chapters you can start to see that Carley feels loved.

In my opinion, this book is amazing, one for the murphys is a really good book because of the plot twists. Carley is a great kid; she just has a lot of problems in her life and she doesn’t know how to deal with them. I can relate to this book because I can understand Carley's  view on life, how angry she is, and how it’s hard for her to feel loved. I recommend this book to anyone who is a teenager, or who likes drama and emotional stories.

“Bread and water, like in prison” is an  example of the author's sense of humor. Carley doesn't like to be shown love or cared for, much like in prison.

One For The Murphys is about a girl whose mother is in a coma, while her step father didn’t want to take care of her so she, Carley Connors go to stay with a foster care family the Murphys. There are five people in the Murphy family. Their names are Julie and Jake Murphy the parents and then we have Daniel, Adam and Michel Eric Murphy Mr and Mrs Murphy's kids. . Carley is the type of person to shut everyone out of the world except the people she really loves such as her mother, so she doesn’t like to receive love and affection.

My opinion on this book is that I love this book. This book was not confusing, It was really easy to read. It was sort of predictable but I prefer it that way. It is very believable the way they word/describe the auctions/what is going on. I haven't finished the book so I don't know the ending. My favorite part of the book so far is when they were at a restaurant and they were having an argument. The connections I have to this book is how Carley sees the world or like what her perspective of the world is.
